・About the exhibition
Gallery Nokogiri is pleased to present Donna Wilson, an artist who weaves stories by knitting. Donna grew up with animals in the wilds of Scotland, and when she encountered the perfect material, knitwear, she wove her unstoppable imagination into her very own unique creatures. The creatures capture the hearts of the youngs and olds, somehow carrying a sense of nostalgia like a self-portrait but with a strange friendliness that stays in your hearts.
This exhibition is the second stage of the "Where Donna Wilson is" exhibition of her works held in February 2023. A blissful knit space will appear, with new and representative works that will be on display for the first time in Japan. Knits will cover the entire venue.
Unlike the usual exhibitions at "Nokogiri," the whole space will turn into a store and gallery. You can take home all your purchases on the spot.

Born in Scotland, Donna Wilson first came to prominence in 2002 when she created a series of knitted works featuring strange creatures while studying at the Royal College of Art (RCA) in the UK. Since then, she has worked worldwide, expanding her creative range from commercial work to furniture and art. Currently while based in London, she also runs a knitting studio of her own in Scotland.
